Survivor Chat Cafe > FOR MY SISTERS EVERYWHERE

Domestic Violence is not new to me at all. My aunt was murdered by her husband, my mother's first husband was abusive, many of my aunts were abused, my paternal grandfather abused both my grandmother and his children (including my father) and I have been in two separate abusive relationships and I fear I could be in a third. I am a very outspoken, intelligent and beautiful woman and to most people they cannot believe I have lived this issue but I tell them, "It can happen to you as well"! This issue has no color lines or socio-economic status. Everyone can be a victim and we all know someone who has faced this issue. I have faced DEATH on many occasions and survived. However, when I left this behind eight years ago I closed that chapter of my life.

Women be strong! Make a plan and leave now while you can! If not for you than for your children! THEY NEED YOU!

My abuser was in the U.S.Army. We were together for four years. Over the course of our relationship he beat me, choked me, tried to drown me, smother me and strangle me. Many moments I believed I was going to die but God got me through. I finally decided to leave one night and he exploded. I managed call 911 and they arrested him but it didn't stop there. He threatened to blow up the hospital I worked at just to get me. He threatened my children, my family and my friends. His last violation of me was when he broke back into our house and raped me. That night I stopped being his victim because the only thing I had left for him to take was my life and I wanted to live for my children.

I never looked back. If you are being abuse get help...PLEASE! Ladies if you someone to talk to I'm here (my email is sydhunt@hotmail.com). You will always have a sister here. Anything I can do to help, I am here.
