L.Y.Marlow’s goal is to obtain 1 million pledges for the ‘Saving Promise’ Campaign to take to Congress to implore them to strengthen domestic violence laws.

Why is L.Y. Marlow Doing This?

Ms. Marlow is the award-winning author of Color Me Butterfly, a true-story about four generations of mothers and daughters who suffered and survived 60+ years of domestic violence and abuse.  The book is inspired by the women in Marlow’s family: her grandmother, her mother, herself and her daughter. 

Ms. Marlow’s daughter is currently involved in an abusive relationship and when she learned that the man in her daughter’s life had tried to kill her daughter and had also threatened the life of their baby girl named Promise, Marlow tried to intervene and seek justice on their behalf and was told she could not.

As a survivor, an advocate, a mother, a woman who comes from four generations of domestic violence and abuse, Ms. Marlow has vowed not only to break the cycle of abuse in her family but to make a difference for others as well.

How Can You Help?

You can help by spreading the word and encouraging others to pledge their support.  Simply send the Saving Promise link (http://www.colormebutterfly.com/saving-promise-campaign/) to your friends, family, colleagues and peers and ask them to pledge their support.
